Gleeson Strategic Land successfully promoted
this sensitive
greenfi eld site of 4.2 hectares
through the local planning process, achieving
an allocation for a minimum of 75 units
within the adopted local plan.
After being recommended for residential
development, a government appointed
independent inspector oversaw two local
plan inquiries that exhaustively evaluated
the merits of the site. Having originally
promoted the site to ensure its inclusion
within the plan, Gleeson Strategic Land
protected the allocation at Inquiry then
through to adoption of the plan.
Before embarking upon detailed layouts a
full environmental constraints analysis was
undertaken to prepare a constraints plan.
This plan enabled an assessment of the
impact the development would have upon
the landscape and local environment to be
evaluated and guided the principles of the
layout that subsequently evolved.
